A qualified engineer with a specialization in chemical engineering, Mr Sandeep Chaturvedi now helms the Biodiesel Association of India (BDAI) which is promoting the biodiesel industry in India. Considered an expert on biofuels, Mr Chaturvedi essayed a key role in formulating the National Biofuels Policy announced by the MNRE in December 2009.
An ardent environmentalist and a lover of all that is `green and clean’, Mr Chaturvedi has advised several states such as Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka on biodiesel plantation schemes. He was a special invitee at the Planning Commission of India during 2007-08 and helped in drafting the first policy document under the Chairmanship of Dr Kirit Parikh, then Member (Energy), of the Commission.
He has contributed immensely towards long-term policy planning and implementation in co-ordination with key players such as IOCL, BPCL, HPCL, RIL and Tata Chemicals, besides various national and state agencies. As a Member, State Level Co-ordination Committee for implementation of Bioenergy in Uttar Pradesh, he has provided inputs for the state’s biofuels policy under the name of Jeevan Jyoti.
As a leading proponent of biofuels in the country, Mr Chaturvedi has the unique distinction of commercializing biodiesel in the country since 2003 and supplying it to the Indian Railways and IOCL in the year 2004. He has also conducted successful trials with HSRTC and IOCL during 2004-05.
He is also a member on various committees for pricing/implementation of biodiesel of MOPNG, Planning Commission of India, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, and other national and state bodies.
In 2003, he had the unique distinction of leading a team of engineers/scientists for developing continuous cracking of esters of fatty acids finding applications in perfumery and high-end lubricants. He also provided key inputs to the Biodiesel Implementation Committee report dated January 2010 under the directive of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, and in co-ordination with OMCs such as IOCL, HPCL, BPCL, RIL and biodiesel manufacturers of the country.
A Bachelor of Engineering (BE) from the Bharati Vidya Peeth College of Engineering, University of Poona (Pune), Mr Chaturvedi has presented several national/international papers on oleo-chemicals/biofuels including that of ICILOR(Amsterdam-2003), Workshop on Biofuels by Technical University (Madrid-2004), UNDP (Paris-2008), OTAI (Mumbai-2003 and 2007), SEA (Ahmedabad- 2004) and NLGI (2004 and 2005).
He was the business head at GOCL between 1997-2008 where he developed specific products/applications for additives for paints, plasticizers, lubricating greases and perfumery. He developed business in several countries including in Russia, Greece, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, the US and UK, central and east Europe, the Far East, Middle-East, China and South Africa by personally visiting and appointing agents/distributers there. He also developed exclusive products for Exxon, Shell and Elf Total Fina and Lubrizol, based on their application demands.
Presently, Mr Chaturvedi is an independent strategic consultant in the field of petroleum and renewable energy. He is a Member of the Biodiesel Implementation Committee, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, 2010, and Member, Working Group on Pricing and Marketing of Biodiesel, MNRE, Government of India. Dr Anjan Ray brings to bear his immense knowledge and considerable experience to promote the usage of biofuels in the country. A highly-qualified personality, Dr Ray is a Ph.D in Chemistry received from the University of Pennsylvania under the guidance of Nobel Laureate Prof. Alan MacDiarmid.
A 25-year veteran, Dr Ray has worked in the chemicals, oil & gas and allied industries and in diverse functions ranging from Quality Control, Technical Service and R&D to Business Development, Corporate Strategy, Marketing and Sales. His professional interests have spanned applications of chemicals and energy solutions to fields as diverse as cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, oleochemicals, oilfield chemicals, coatings, textiles, energy efficiency and biofuels.

A chemical engineer with a post-graduate Diploma in Management from IIM, Kolkata, Mr S K Mondal has spent 14-years with Emami Biotech. An ardent advocate of environment-protection, Mr Mondal counts as his achievements the setting-up of biodiesel and edible oil plants considered the best in the country. He is also one of the recognized experts in the copper industry.
Mr Mondal's previous experience comprises of a 15-year stint in Hindustan Copper Ltd and five-years each in two leading financial institutions of the country - Industrial Finance Corporation of India (IFCI) and IDBI.

A highly-qualified and experienced personality, Mr S K Agrawal brings his valuable expertise to the Biodiesel Association of India (BDAI) in furthering the cause of environmental protection and encouraging the use of `green fuels'.
Mr Agrawal is General Manager (Corporate Affairs), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), and is well-versed in legal and corporate affairs. He is a B.Com (Hons), LL.B, AICWA and ACS.
He began his career as an accounts officer in Usha International. He then joined BPCL and is a veteran of three decades in the public sector entity. He has risen up the ranks, having worked in the accounts and legal and corporate affairs departments of the company.
